infinite oceans speaking events:

My mission + intention is to build platforms for people and voices who often go unheard. For stories that have historically been overlooked. For identities who are never given seats at the table or stages to stand on.

Infinite Oceans speaking events aim to create bridges of mentorship, highlight greatness and celebrate our communities.

xo Carla

Founded by Carla Beharry in 2018, Infinite Oceans events are not-to-be-missed. These TEDTalk-style speaking events are one-of-a-kind experiences that feature an incredibly diverse line-up of consciously aware speakers. Speakers range in age from 14 - 70 and stand proudly on our stage to share their personal stories of RESISTANCE, JUSTICE, TENACITY, COURAGE AND DETERMINATION.

2021 | The Black History Month Online Event

Join US on Friday, February 26th, 2021 from 6:30 - 9:30pm, as we celebrate and honour the wisdom, stories and voices of our Black community leaders. Selam Debs and Carla Beharry have curated a night of speaking, music, DJing, dance & spoken word - A tribute to our African and Caribbean cultures and communities.

After years of education, advocating and standing up for justice, this is a night of warmth and uplifting celebration.

Gracing our stage with personal stories of overcoming adversity, cultivating inspiration and finding mentorship are five speakers, spanning generations and cultures, not to be missed.

Affinity Events are inspiring, energizing, and thought-provoking evenings that bring together like-minded feminists/activists to hear and share stories that empower, challenge and move those in attendance. The sharing of these stories reminds us how similar our experiences are and allows us to learn and grow from one another. Woke Women events are AMAZING!

This evening was a reminder not to take my own story for granted. There is something powerful when a group of women can get together and share their stories in an environment that empowers them and reminds them that they are not alone and that these stories are part of the building blocks of someone else’s journey too. This is what this night is all about.

WATERLOO, 2018:

It was raw and emotional, the stories coming from the heart, and I’m sure resonated with everyone that attended!
I believe you and the other amazing and brave speakers, by sharing your own deep stories, stories that we don’t tend to share but may want to bury, you have given other women the strength and courage to open and explore their own journeys and in time accept and heal! By speaking out we are also on our own journey to accept, forgive and let go of whatever we’re holding on to, on our path to heal. Everyone has a story.
Much gratitude to you!
— PARVEEN. AFFINITY WATERLOO GUEST.
It is a well needed platform for women to get together, share their struggles and support each other. I enjoyed the spirit of community, the wonderful energy of the gathering and the honesty of the stories. Afterwards, I felt reassured, encouraged and empowered.
